About IBNA

IBNA has for its objective to promote the interests of the international banking community in the Netherlands Antilles in the widest sense of the word.

IBNA attempts to attain this objective by:

  • acting as the representative body of the international banking community towards the Governments of the Netherlands Antilles and the Island Territory of Curaçao, as well as towards the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles, with respect to intended, or desired amendments of the law, regulations, executive resolutions, decrees and guidelines;

  • to provide a forum for the exchange of thoughts and views among international banks in the Netherlands Antilles;

  • to diffuse knowledge and to stimulate a correct comprehension of the role and the nature of international banking in the Netherlands Antilles as being an important  industry and to estimate and promulgate its influence on the economy of the Netherlands Antilles;

  • to maintain a regular contact with the governmental agencies, the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Associations of the Business Community for the exchange of views and for information regarding actual developments in the business community and other matters in connection with the extension and further growth and continued development of sound international banking in the Netherlands Antilles;

  • to participate in the consultative bodies instituted by the government of the Netherlands Antilles;

  • to issue press releases and notices for the other news media, as well as to maintain contacts with those media;

  • to promote and sustain local education and programs for professional training in the field of the international banking business;

  • to co-operate with or provide support to organizations and persons who strive to attain an objective similar or related to the objective of IBNA;

  • to promote the conduct of transactions between the members and thus conduce to the development of an international money- and capital market in the Netherlands Antilles;

  • to do and perform each and everything which might be conducive to the attainment of the objective of IBNA.
