The Association of International Bankers in the Netherlands Antilles “IBNA” was founded on April 4, 1980 with the main purpose to look after the interests of the international banking sector of the Netherlands Antilles.

Members of IBNA are banks and affiliate offices of banks conducting international banking business in the Netherlands Antilles and which are in possession of a valid banking license issued by the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles, in its capacity of the supervisory body for credit and banking institutions operating in the Netherlands Antilles.

The Minister of Finance of the Netherlands Antilles has appointed IBNA as the representative organization for the International Banking Sector in virtue of Part 1: Section 1: Article 1: Subsection E of the National Ordinance on the Supervision of the Bank- and Credit Institutions of 1994; PB 1994 No.4.
